A one-man studio in Egbeda
DesiTech began as Tohybest Studio, a one-man business in Gowon Estate, Egbeda, doing graphics and printing: typesetting, ID cards, business cards. Small jobs, turned around properly. The habit of getting the details right started here.
From print to pixels
Late that year, the studio became Tohybest Tech Studio and moved into a three-room office. Websites joined the work, built at first with Muse, WordPress, and drag-and-drop tools. It was the year the job stopped ending at the printer.
The year we became Desi
Our founder's first daughter was born and named Desire — in Yoruba, dé sí ire, "come into goodness." He wanted a company name that was just as short and just as easy to hold in the mind. Desire became Desi, Desi Technologies became DesiTech, and the studio finally had a name that fit where it was going.
Registered, and building full-stack
On 22 May 2023, the business was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as DESI BUSINESS INTEGRATED SERVICES, BN 6981991. By then we had moved well past templates into full-stack web and app development — for hotels and hospitality, clubs and lounges, oil and gas, superstores and law firms, in Lagos and far beyond it. Among them DonHolz Industries, an oil and gas company headquartered in San Francisco, and Guiding Light Haven, a child care home in Texas.
Ota, and a wider brief
We moved to Ota, Ogun State, and widened what we do: digital marketing and SEO, UI/UX design, cloud and DevOps consulting, and the first applications built and run in-house.
DesiTech Nig Ltd
We upgraded our CAC registration from a business name to a limited company. It was a structural change more than a visible one — the same team, the same work — but it put us on a footing to take on larger contracts and hold longer relationships.
Software we own, with AI at the centre
We are building products of our own: UrClub for Nigeria's nightlife industry, Tournova, and SmartVina AI. Each is being built with AI in its foundations rather than bolted on afterwards — the same direction we are taking client work.
